If you've received this e-mail announcement, congratulations! You're one of the former employees of The Daily News for whom we have a current e-mail address.

The Atlanta Press Club is planning to honor the staff and legacy of The Gwinnett Daily News and we want to make sure as many former staffers as possible attend. So, if you know a former staffer please forward this e-mail to them. And while you're at it, add a short note telling them that YOU will be there - and that you want them to be there also.

This is the only reunion event being planned for our former staffers until, hopefully, 2012. Please try to attend and help us get as many others as possible to attend with you!

ATLANTA - Fifteen years ago, on September 6, 1992, The Daily News ceased publication in Gwinnett County, uprooting the lives of over 300 employees, many of whom considered their experience at the paper the best of their professional lives.

But the newspaper has not been forgotten by the community of journalists in Atlanta. On Wednesday, Sept. 26, the Atlanta Press Club will honor the contributions of the Daily News and her staff at the Press Club's monthly mixer, to be held at the new Vickery's location in Glenwood Park. Look for another e-mail soon with the exact time.

Former staff members will be the special guests of the Atlanta Press Club, the largest such organization outside of Washington, D.C. All former members of the paper are thereby cordially invited to gather to examine waistlines and generally catch up with each other.
